Important Tips

Before purchasing a Warranty, consider the following:

  • Installments advertised at “0%” interest are often misleading! In most cases an Administrative Fee is included in the price. If the cash price is not less than the installment price, the company will be making extra profit.
  • Be careful not to succumb to pressure selling! Always ask for the FINAL PRICE and avoid sticker shock! You will often be quoted the down payment and monthly installment and number of payments. Do not get hooked before knowing the final price.
  • Understand Warranty Terminology!
  • Exclusionary Auto Warranty- A car warranty where the parts covered are too many to list and only the parts NOT covered are listed. This is the best auto warranty available and is almost equal to a manufacturer’s warranty. Usually offered for newer and lower mileage vehicles.
  • Bumper to Bumper – A common term used to describe an Exclusionary Warranty.
  • Component Coverage – A warranty where the components covered are listed and any part NOT listed is NOT covered.
  • Price should not be the only factor to consider. You should, if affordable get the most coverage possible.
  • If the price is too high for your budget – try an Enhanced Powertrain car warranty. These usually cost much less and cover the big ticket items and some of the more common parts that are prone to breakdowns.
  • One single repair can cost as much or much more than your entire warranty
